Conical Mandrel Test

Overview

One of a coating's primary purposes is to protect the substrate beneath it. With that, its elasticity and resistance to deformation from physical stress are extremely important characteristics to ensure its longevity. The conical mandrel bend test determines the elongation, elasticity, & adhesion of cured coatings on its substrate. The mandrel used to test the coating varies in diameter along its length, effectively testing the coating properties at different bend radii to accurately determine coating durability & adhesion characteristics.
